The 3rd Annual Theatre Walk Santa Fe is coming September 14th

Theatre Santa Fe’s Theatre Walk has become the largest, locally produced theatrical experience in the City Different. It’s the only time all of our producing companies come together to give audiences a taste of what they have to offer.

With over twenty companies, there is a wide range of styles, genres, and content to perk a wide array of interests. This year’s Walk will feature adult and youth Shakespearean companies: International Shakespeare Center, Santa Fe Classic Theatre, and The Upstart Crows; the nationally known physical theatre company called Theater Grottesco; and several producers of classic American plays, such as Robert Benedetti’s New Mexico Actor’s Lab and Scott Harrison’s Ironweed Productions.

New this year will be a youth playwriting project featuring their own works, sponsored by the Santa Fe Playhouse. ReinArt Productions puts humanity’s consciousness on trial with a scene from their production of The False Witness.

Thanks to the large number of professional playwrights living in Santa Fe, there are many original works being featured again this year by playwrights Rosemary Zibart (Z Productions), Aaron Leventman (Almost Adult Productions), Talia Pura (Blue Raven Theatre), Jerry Labinger (Labinger Productions), and Brenda Lynn Bynum (The Oasis Theatre Company).

Mona Malec of One Rep Max Theater will showcase an excerpt from her one-woman play. The Quinn Fontaine Studio will entertain audiences with on-the-spot improv, and new this year, are guest companies from surrounding communities: The Nat Gold Players of Las Vegas will present the classic, “Whose on First,” Los Alamos Little Theatre will present Red Licorice by John R. Gustafson, and playwright Robert Benjamin of Los Alamos will present an original play.

Rounding out the offerings are KGR’s Kabaret, a collection of amusing stories with song; JulesWorks, a variety show; and our long-standing companies,Teatro Paraguas and the Santa Fe Playhouse, taking time out of their regular seasons to share short works.
